1980 Hamer Standard "Sunburst"

A rare example of the coveted Hamer Standard model! This 1980 example features a stunningly figured, flame maple top on a mahogany body, an unbound fingerboard, dot inlays, and the original DiMarzzio pickups. This guitar originally featured a Kahler tailpiece but a previous owner installed a Gibson-style ABR-1 and stop tailpiece. A great player with a distinct tone, these guitars are perhaps most associated with Rick Nielsen who has used the Hamer Standard throughout his career with Cheap Trick. These guitars have caught on with player's and collectors alike and have become incredibly hard to find in recent years.
