Description

Freshly set up in-house by our esteemed Guitar Tech, this Harmony Buck Owens American is dialed in and ready for some real pickin' and grinnin'.

Historians of Country Music remember the Hee Haw TV Show that aired in the late 60s and early 70s with Buck Owens and Roy Clark as hosts. Buck was often featured with a custom made Red White and Blue acoustic guitar which caught the public's eye and a line of Buck Owen American guitars was manufactured by Harmony and sold by Sears. The popularity of these guitars naturally waned over the years, but then was rekindled when some modern players started featuring the American in their performances. Turns out these old Harmony Americans sound quite good and the striking red, white, and blue motif made them instantly recognizable.

This American is in Excellent vintage condition with modest cosmetic wear and tear, including light scratches, dings, nicks, and some aging of the hardware, finish, and graphics. Overall, this guitar looks quite clean and fresh, especially for an instrument of this age. We had some restoration work done by Nate Wood of Stahman Guitar, including a neck reset and a re-fret with medium-sized frets. The guitar now sounds and plays just as it should. Comes with a new Thunder Road Guitars PDX acoustic gig bag. See below for more details and specifications.

NOTE TO OUR VALUED CUSTOMERS:

We want you to be happy with your purchase and we try to represent the condition of all used and vintage guitars as accurately as possible in our listings. Every used guitar shows some signs of play wear and vintage models even more so. We call out all areas of damage or unusual wear, and describe the overall condition based upon what is "normal" for the age of the instrument. Expect to see minor dings, finish checking, or other evidence of normal use and aging which may not be captured by photography or explicitly mentioned in the listing.

We recognize that everyone has their own personal standard of what constitutes acceptable wear and tear. If play wear is especially critical for you, please contact us at the Shop for a complete in-hand description and to answer any questions you may have. Your satisfaction is of paramount importance to us.
