c. 1966 Harmony H-27 Bass Sunburst Flame!

Here is a truly great Harmony H-27 bass from c. 1966. This was Harmony's most deluxe bass with great features that really work. It's a different flavor from the H-22 and is more of an overall bass with more options. It's got a very natural and transparent vibe going on here. Buy this before we come to our senses and realize how useful this bass is! The bass is in very good overall condition. There are some light scratches, dings, and general wear from a 50+ year old bass. The bass comes with a nice large oversized case.

The H-27 bass was Harmony’s finest. Alongside the H-22 single-pickup hollowbody bass, the H-27 was the enhanced double pickup alternative. Initially offered in the 1966 Harmony catalog, the H-27 was created to compete with similar models being produced by competing manufacturers, such as; the Gibson EB-2, the Guild Starfire I, and the Fender Coronado. The H-27 featured: a double-cutaway double-bound laminated maple body (with an arched top and back) which often displayed modest flame complemented by an “Iced Tea” sunburst finish, (2) DeArmond Golden Tone humbucking pickups, a deluxe “Made in Germany” nickel tailpiece with an adjustable bridge, a bound maple neck with a rosewood fingerboard, pearloid dot inlays, unbound f-holes, a Fender-style 4-on-a-side headstock with a tortoise shell pattern celluloid overlay, a chrome Harmony logo, “Made in Japan” deluxe individual tuning machines (like those found on an Epiphone Newport), a rosewood finger-rest and thumb-rest with tortoise shell pattern celluloid caps, brown barrel knobs with chrome caps, a traditional 3-way pickup selector switch with a stretched octagonal tortoise shell pattern celluloid switch switch plate, and a “Carrying Case, keratol, plush lined” original case originally offered for an additional $27.00.
