Description

This is a snappy little guitar! The H1000B was produced for a short while in the mid to late 30s by Harmony in Chicago. Very few of the early Harmony-branded flat tops survive, so it's incredible to find this one in near-mint condition. Typical of Harmony guitars, this one is date stamped below the sound hole, '34', inside an oval. The head stock bears the 'Harmony' decal.
The guitar is solid birch construction sporting a glowing sunburst, ladder braced. The neck is poplar or basswood. Both fingerboard and bridge are 'ebonized', with the bridge retaining its original fret wire saddle. A red/green decal adorns the sound hole.
The lower bout measures 13 1/4" and scale length is 24 1/4". The neck profile is a very comfortable 'C' shape and measures 1 3/4" across at the nut. Action is set at 4/64".
The only repair noticed is the bridge was reglued at some point. Recently, the neck was reset, and the frets leveled and dressed, otherwise the guitar is completely original and pristine.
The sound is surprisingly full and rich for a small-ish birch box, and fun and easy to play. Great fingerpicker for country blues.
