Description

The H165 was a very popular model for Harmony, spanning four decades. This model dates to about 1960, since it has the gold clef and fancier script Harmony logo. The body is all solid mahogany, with a mahogany neck. The fingerboard and bridge are Brazilian rosewood. This is a ladder-braced, grand concert-size guitar, which measures over 15" across the lower bout (think 000-18). Scale length is 25 1/4", and the neck measures 1 3/4" across at the nut. The neck profile is a full 'C' shape. The neck has a steel rod, but no adjustable truss rod. Frets are leveled and dressed, and in excellent condition. The guitar retains its original tuners, nut, bridge, end pin and maybe the saddle, too. Only the pick guard is missing (some glue remains). There are also some nicks and dings from wear over time.
The guitar has had a recent neck reset, with the action set at 6/64". There is a very fine hairline in the treble waist.
The large, ladder-braced mahogany body produces a very pleasing and rounded tone. Check the sound clip! No case.
