DESCRIPTION
What a scene! For your consideration a 1933 Harmony Art Deco parlor with a fantastic scene of a dancer on a balcony. We just cant get enough of these old parlors with cool stencil designs. Another first for us with this super cool art deco styling. Maybe its a flamenco dancer getting some fresh air after a long night of dancing? The grey swirl pick guards juxtaposition against the column is stunning. The red “binding” on the body and sound hole really make everything pop.
Specs! Nut width measures 1-3/4″. Birch neck with a depth of .88″ at the first fret and 1.21″ at the twelve fret. 22-7/8″ scale length. Flat radius. 20 small frets. Laminate birch body finished black with super cool dance stencil. Red “Binding”. Small grey celluloid pick guard. The tuners have been replaced with a newer set. There is a newer bone nut and bone saddle. There is a new bridge and bridge plate. It has a newer set of rosewood bridge pins. Comes with a soft shell case. Weighs 2 pounds and 13 ounces.
Often when we find these ’30s parlors with cool finishes they end up falling into the wall hanger category, that is not the case with this one! This parlor plays! It has that great corky sound you find in these old harmony’s. Very blues, crisp and dry. Super fun for finger picking. Could be cool for recording. Would make a great living room guitar, dual purpose looks great in a room and is a playable guitar! We get a lot of cool stenciled parlors but this is a shop favorite!
