Description

This is the 1st Production Heritage H525 made and delivered to our shop in 2006. This Heritage model was initiated & designed by our own Jay Wolfe, working with Heritage founder Marv Lamb to build and market an improved Gibson ES225 style axe. Marv made 2 prototypes, sent 1 to Jay for approval & critique, and then this particular H525 was the 1’st made available to purchase, as annotated on the label. The H525 is a VERY rich sounding axe and the Lollars certainly contribute mightily to that end. The most vintage sounding 525 is lightweight & hollow and has:

Lollar P-90’s (see description below), 1-11/16th inch nut width, 24 3/4 inch scale Mahogany neck, Indian Rosewood fingerboard, PLEK’d frets when sold new- superb setup and playability, Grover Rotomatic tuning keys, 17 degree peghead angle, real Nitrocellulose Lacquer finish, 16 inch lower bout width, 2.25” rim depth, 20 medium jumbo frets- in fine condition- no issues, Florentine cutaway, cream color body & neck binding, original 5 ply deluxe hardshell case by Guardian case- Note: Heritage did not offer a case for this (then brand new) model at the time and Wolfe acquired the very sturdy & excellent fitting Guardian cases for the 1st dozen or so H525’s.

Condition- Would be “mint” except for some slight weather checking on the top, upper bout near pickup selector switch and some very minor checking on the rim. Frets have just the slightest grooving- almost none actually. Setup is Plektastic and she plays like a dream.

Pickguard- Heritage has not offered a pickguard for this model, We can install one of our own design in laminated black plastic for + $55. Also- a neck side strap button is not installed and we’ll install one free on request.

PLEK……….THE ULTIMATE SETUP!
WOLFE GUITARS have an incredible high tech PLEK machine, and we are offering a SPECIAL PRICE for customers buying a new or pre-owned Guitar or Bass from our shop. Our PLEK robotic fret dressing process is way more accurate and gentler on the frets & fingerboard fret slots than a typical manual filing fret dress. Since the instrument is already here, and going to be setup by us anyway, we’ll do the PLEK service for a deeply discounted price of just $139.00. Included is hand polishing the frets and a full setup. This amazing service is normally $219.00 Our PLEK customers tell us they’re VERY pleased with the results and you will be also.

From the Lollar web site:

Our flagship pickup and an industry standard. Scatter wound with de-gaussed Alnico 5 bar magnets, the P-90 soapbar gives you a fat, clean tone with a smoother treble ideal for harder, driving rock with more grind. It sounds like an old P-90 rather than a new pickup with hard edges.

The neck and bridge tones are nearly equal, with the bridge sounding slightly hotter when playing single notes.

DC: Neck 8.2K, Middle 8.73K, Bridge 9.1K
