"Building guitars with your own hands, as good as possible and beyond, is nothing a career counselor suggests in high-school (at least not a responsible-minded one). Guitar making is more a calling than a profession, but it is not about 'more, more'. Our constant craving is better, better, better."
Beautiful Worn Vintage White 2018 Krautster II with a 1-piece body and Ebony fingerboard just in!
We can't say enough about Nik Huber's finishes, they're just incredibly beautiful. The satin finished top (and neck) melds perfectly with the open-pore/satin finish on the back of the body to create a very unique playing experience. The combination of an ultra high-end build with the "raw" feel of the woods used in the build creates a unique feel that's one of the highlights of the Krautster II model.
Like all Huber instruments, this guitar is extremely resonant, quite loud acoustically, and sustains for days without the aid of amplification. Plugged in? Punch. Articulation. Power. The splittable Haussel made bridge humbucker in combination with a Haussell P90 neck pickup yields a ton of different tones - classic rock, Tele-esq twang, even fat jazzy neck tones are possible with this setup.
Condition: Excellent. There is some light worming on the side of the body (by the 1/4" jack from an errant 1/4" cable we're guessing), some light pick marks on the guard, and some extremely light fret wear on the 2nd fret.
If you're in the market for an exceptional rethink of a Les Paul Jr/Special, you really owe it to yourself to check out this Krautster II. Priced with a deluxe hardshell case.
**Please note: The satin finish on the Krautster is meant to age / patina as time goes on. It will become glossier in spots that see high use (strumming arm, for example). It's a difficult finish to keep spotless, which is intentional and by Huber's design.
