Analogue silicon fuzz with a hit of upper octave The Standard Machine is a sonic replica of the Ibanez Standard Fuzz. It is very close in tone (and electrically) to the classic Shin-ei built Superfuzz, but with more of everything. More fuzz, more volume, more extreme! Super fat and compressed octave fuzz tone which nail those 60′s, 70′s tones and beyond in a small package. Fitted with a carefully selected set of vintage correct, matched 2SC828 transistors and a 2SK30A FET at the front end to drive the fuzzy, octave madness. Each pedal is built by hand from scratch onto vintage-style stripboard, using high quality components and with a high attention to detail. They come loaded with Alpha longlife pots, a heavy duty Alpha switch, Neutrik Jacks, carbon film resistors, Konek / WIMA / BC / HL capacitors and other high quality components. Controls INST – Plug your guitar in here. AMP – Plug your amplifier in here. FUZZ DEPTH – Controls how hard the effect is driven. The higher the setting the more intense the fuzz and octave. As in the original devices at the minimum setting no signal passes into the effect. BALANCE – Controls the overall volume of the pedal when the effect is turned on. Use it to balance the fuzz level to the bypassed signal (unity is around the 2 o’clock mark – a good starting point). FUZZ FOOT SWITCH – Toggles between the bypass mode and the fuzz effect. TONE SWITCH – Toggles between two different tones. One is full ranged with plenty of mids, the other scoops the mid range and emphasizes the bass and treble. Power Like the many vintage fuzz pedals, the Standard Machine runs on batteries only. Disconnecting the input jack when not in use allows a single battery to last a long time, owing to the very low current draw of the circuit. We fit and recommend Zinc Chloride type batteries.
