3052...Lovely Indian rosewood and bear claw Italian Alpine spruce 12 fret 000 from H & D. The body is bound in rosewood with wood purflings and a herringbone rosette. The instrument exhibits full, complex overtones and a strong voice when played fingerstyle. Highly responsive to even a light touch and bearing up well to a moderate pick attack. This guitar is not really for flat pickers though, it is first and foremost a fingerstyle guitar. The scale length of 24.9" means that the fret reaches are very comfortable for fingerstyle play, yet the overall feel of the string tension is not too soft or yielding as can be the case on some short scale guitars. The nut width of 1 3/4" and pin spacing of 2 5/16" is a favored combination among many fingerstylists. The guitar has been well maintained by its previous two owners. There are a few superficial finish dings and dents but nothing serious. There is one side crack that is repaired, in the treble side near the waist. The crack was about 2 1/2" in length, the repair is level and tight, professionally done, stable and solid. The action measures 6/64" at the low E (12th fret) and 5/64" at the high E with a solid 1/8" of saddle showing, excellent action with a very straight neck. The frets are in excellent condition, no wear to speak of. New examples of this guitar are available currently around $5000. This one is offered with its original tweed hard case for $3450. Items are sold with a 48 hour approval period unless clearly marked "AS IS" in the listing. AS IS items are not returnable. If an item is going to be returned it is at the buyer's expense and the item must be shipped within 24 hours of the buyer notifying Kovacik Guitars of intent to return. Any returned items must be shipped in the original packaging and MUST be fully insured when returned. Once an item is returned to Kovacik Guitars and judged to be in the same condition as when originally sold a full refund will be issued.
