Huss and Dalton Guitar Company, Inc. took root in the fertile soil of the Shenandoah Valley, late in the summer of 1995, when Jeff Huss and Mark Dalton’s friendship and mutual interests inspired them to envision eminently playable, resonant, and attractive guitars that were true to their sense of aesthetics and tone. While the luthiers appreciated traditional design, they imagined a guitar that paid homage to tradition and also incorporated improvements to the structure and cosmetics of the distinctly American steel-string guitar.

Today, Huss & Dalton builds the world's finest acoustic guitars and banjos in both traditional and contemporary styles.

This mid-size jumbo, at 16" across and 4 7/8" deep, features a Sitka spruce top and comes standard with beautifully figured maple back and sides. It has a big voice without the muddy quality often associated with guitars of this size. Either you dig the shape or you don't, but you can't question the players who ascended to stardom with a jumbo guitar held in front of them. The MJ also comes in Indian rosewood or mahogany. Half-herringbone (rope) top purfling is standard, as well as the half-herringbone rosette, and the Indian rosewood binding adds class, as well as protection to the delicate edges of the guitar. The Stingray fretboard inlays add a subtle dazzle in any light.
