Offered for sale;

Used c1974 Ibanez 2451. This guitar is in excellent condition, neck and frets are fine, cosmetically in nice shape.

The model 2451 is the Ibanez rendition of the Gibson L6S Custom. This is the most faithful Gibson replica by Ibanez that we’ve ever seen. This guitar appears to be all original with the possible exception of the pickup rings.

A little about the Gibson L6S that inspired this guitar;

In the 1970s Gibson made a solid body version of the L5 hollow body jazz guitar called the L5-S. It had all the cosmetic appointments of the L5 and the body shape was wider than a Les Paul with the bass side upper bout resembling a more traditional hollow body shape.

The L6-S was sort of a cosmetically plain, working musician's, version of the L5-S but with a 24 fret neck and more varied tone settings with its six way switch and mid cut knob.

Production of the Gibson L6-S ran from 1973-80. It took Ibanez only a year to create their replica.

As I can attest as an owner of an L6-S since 1974, the strong suit of this guitar is the wonderful speed of the neck and the access to the full 24 fret fingerboard. When this guitar was introduced, there was no other 2-octave guitars as easy to play as this. Notable players included Carlos Santana and John McLaughlin.”

Historical note; Ibanez guitars had no serial numbers prior to 1975.

Cool guitar, you won’t find one of these kicking around very often.

Original hard shell case included.

*Please note: we do our best giving descriptions of used pieces. We have found it impossible to describe every mark on an instrument or amp that is not in the "mint" category. Also, what's important to you may not be important to someone else. For example, you may say, "I don't care what it looks like as long as it plays or sounds well." Another person may say, "Body cosmetics are very important to me so tell me about every scratch, nick and blemish." So, please ask the questions that are most important to you. If you ask they will be answered. They are free and there's no limit. Additional photos can also be made available.

This is a specific item that is also being offered for sale in our brick & mortar location. It is possible that it has just been sold. Please ask if it is still available before purchasing.

*It is our policy to require a signature on delivery of all musical instruments. Please let us know if you prefer no signature required when ordering or we will automatically require a signature.

If you prefer your item to be sent without a required signature Imperial Guitar and the selected carrier can no longer be responsible for the security of the package once it has been delivered.
