This 1981 Ibanez AR100 Artist is in excellent condition. This instrument shows light signs of play wear throughout, but is overall in extremely nice condition (see photos). This guitar features a solid mahogany double cutaway body with a super nice flamed maple top. This 44 year old Ibanez Artist Series was finely crafted in Japan and is original throughout with the exception of the tuning machines which are a professionally installed set of Gotoh locking units. This guitar features a super nice feeling three piece maple neck and a very tidy and dark rosewood fingerboard. The neck profile is that of a small rounded “C” shape with a 1 11/16” nut width. This neck is extremely comfortable in the hand, fast and fun to play! The original frets are in great shape and have lots of life left. This instrument has just received a pro set up here in our shop and it plays outstanding up and down the fingerboard with low smooth action and spot on intonation. The original electronics have been cleaned and are in perfect working order. Both original double white, open coil Ibanez V2 humbucking pickups sound exceptional. These pickups are super open sounding and have a ridiculously clear articulate high end bite that is immaculate sounding with a high gain amplifier - note clarity and definition for days! Just a superb sounding example. This guitar retains it original Gibraltar bridge, decorative Ibanez “cloud” shaped top plate, flat topped switch tip, quick change tailpiece and Sure Grip knobs. These vintage Ibanez electric guitars are prone to having binding issues but this one has near perfect binding with no issues. An overall stunner. Here at Mom and Dad’s Music, we absolutely love these vintage Ibanez electric guitars and we are always looking to buy, sell or trade them! This instrument weighs 9lb 4oz and is housed in a mint Epiphone Les Paul case that fits like a glove.
