Ibanez" was originally a brand of Hoshino Gakki for overseas export, and around 1973, "The ARTIST SERIES" was launched as a guitar project to directly reflect the voices of players in a tie-up with famous musicians. The following year, a wide range of models were released with a four-digit number as the model number, based on the "double cutaway" body shape. The AR300, released in 1979, was a model with a beautifully grained flame maple body top. The mahogany body and maple set neck construction, and the flame maple body top give the AR300 a well-balanced sound with gorgeous highs and warm mids. Controls include volume and tone for each pickup, a pickup selector toggle switch, and a tri-sound switch for each pickup. The tri-sound switch provides three different sounds: phase out, coil tap, and normal humbucking, giving you a wide variety of sounds. The careful and detailed binding construction of this model reaffirms the quality of the original construction that has built a legend.
