Description

The majesty and craftsmanship of '70s and '80s Japanese guitars are known around the world and this particular guitar is a gorgeous example of exactly that. We are continually amazed at how well-built these guitars are and they're so good, they spurred lawsuits, spats, and fistfights across the globe. That said, some things are well worth fighting for...

This Concord 698M is simply a marvel to look at and play. With similar J-200s pushing the 4k and above range, here you can enjoy the Jumbo experience for about a grand and you'll be just as equally rewarded. This one's well-voice and articulate with clear, sharp highs and round-bottomed lows. We loaded this guitar with a new set of John Pearse .012-.055s and it now rings like a bell. Of course, it had to go on the "next to the desk" stand where it's easily within arm's reach. That's where the good ones go, every time.

There are very few signs of playwear on this Concord. You'll see the mark behind the bridge that actually looks like a Bearclaw, but it's a mark that was not there at the time of production. There are a few light pick swirls on the pickguard, but that's it. This guitar is extremely tidy and again, a pure joy to play.
