1981 Ibanez MC-350 Natural with Original Hardshell Case
Summary: With only 84 ever made, this is the pinnacle of collectable Ibanez guitars as well as one the highest quality guitars Ibanez ever made with its neck through construction and Ibanez Super 88 Tri-Sound Humbuckers offering loads of sustain and a wide range of sounds. This is a stunning instrument in its quality, playability, sounds and aesthetics which is why some of the greats have played and raved about these rare instruments. You have to play this guitar to truly know its brilliance. It ships in its beautiful original Ibanez hardshell case.
Body: The body is solid mahogany with carved ash caps for the top and back, and features a neck through body construction.
Neck: The neck is a 5 piece maple/walnut, neck through body construction with beautiful dark rosewood fingerboard with 24 frets, abalone dot inlays, bone/brass nut and gold closed back Ibanez “Smooth Gear II” tuning machines. Scale length- 25”. Nut width- 1 11/16”
Pickups/Hardware: Gibraltar bridge mounted on a sustain block, Gibraltar slotted tailpiece with triangular emblem plate, two Super 88 Tri-Sound humbucker pickups, four gold sure grip knobs, two volume, two tone, three-way pickup switch, Tri-Sound mini switch and all gold hardware. The tri-sound mini switch sounds like it is wired to only operate in the neck position and is a coil split.
Cosmetics: This Ibanez is in excellent shape and shows only a bit of pick scratching on top, small ding on the edge of the top, minimal buckle rash, a few very minor scuffs around the edge and a small amount of fret wear.
Playability: Some guitars just come together and play with such tremendous ease and comfort - this instrument is just that – it was easy to restring & a breeze to set up. It has been professionally setup, inspected and restrung with 10’s by our in house luthier. The action is low, the neck is straight and it plays absolutely beautifully.
