Offered for sale:

Used 1979 Ibanez Studio ST-924 bass guitar serial number I791856 Made in Japan at the FujiGen factory.

This bass is in good to very good condition, frets are fine and the (very cool) electronics are fully functional. Like Our Founder’s Alembic Distillate Bass, the neck is just a touch wavey, but it plays just fine at normal action. Cosmetically showing several nicks, marks, a few dings and belt rash. Most are minor making them difficult to photograph. The most visible are on the back edges.

The ST924 features a double-cutaway mahogany and maple body with a walnut top bolted to a maple neck with a 24-fret rosewood fingerboard with abalone dot position markers and a walnut headstock.

Created during Ibanez's golden era, the Studio ST-924 is the top-of-the-line model in the Studio series, which was only made from 1979 - 1982. (Some say it took some of its cues from Alembic and the Grateful Dead) Based on the popular Ibanez Musician MC-924, the Studio features a bolt-on, Quadra-Lock, 24-fret neck. The Quadra-Lock Neck Mount System utilizes four machine bolts coupled with threaded inserts (rather than standard wood screws) to deliver a tighter, more rigid and secure connection between body and neck, enhancing sustain.

With a beautiful natural walnut on mahogany body, 3-ply maple neck, dual coil humbucking pickups and innovative 6-Way "Varitone" style tone selector, the ST-924 is incredibly versatile, allowing you to dial in tones from jazz funk to rock/metal and everything else in between.

Case not included. Cases and gig bags available separately.

“We carefully inspect every instrument when we buy it and bring it up to our standards before we offer it for sale. We also do a full set up before we ship.”

*Please note: we do our best giving descriptions of used pieces. We have found it impossible to describe every mark on an instrument or amp that is not in the "mint" category. Also, what's important to you may not be important to someone else. For example, you may say, "I don't care what it looks like as long as it plays or sounds well." Another person may say, "Body cosmetics are very important to me so tell me about every scratch, nick and blemish." So, please ask the questions that are most important to you. If you ask they will be answered. They are free and there's no limit. Additional photos can also be made available.

This is a specific item that is also being offered for sale in our brick & mortar location. It is possible that it has just been sold. Please ask if it is still available before purchasing.

*It is our policy to require a signature on delivery of all musical instruments. Please let us know if you prefer no signature required when ordering or we will automatically require a signature.

If you prefer your item to be sent without a required signature Imperial Guitar and the selected carrier can no longer be responsible for the security of the package once it has been delivered.
