Ibanez SR1205 Soundgear 5-String Bass 1994 - Transparent Turquoise
Here we have a 1994 Ibanez SR1205 in Transparent Turquoise! This Korean build has been well-played but it is still in good shape.
This is a neck through bass with a 5 piece maple and walnut neck, maple body wings and a flame maple top. It has a rosewood board with 24 frets and dot inlays. The scale length is 34" and the nut width is 1 3/4". It has dual humbuckers, an Ibanez ADX5B and ADX5N Active Dynamix set. The controls are active and include a master volume, pickup blend, stacked treble / bass and stacked midrange / sweepable frequency.
The bass is in good shape overall with a number of dings and scratches over its surface. There are a couple notable paint chips on the back body edge, as well a paint chip on the back of the neck. One of the tuners has been replaced and the electronics show signs of reworking and resoldering. The frets show light wear but play fine. The gold hardware shows wear, oxidation, and faint pitting.
This one weighs in right at 9lbs. The neck measures .820 to .925 at the 1st and 12th frets. The neck is a slimmer D shape with a just barely flat apex. The bass is well-balance in your lap with a sleek body design, and a well-sculpted transition from neck to body at the upper register. It plays easily in all positions and really sounds nice.
