The Ibanez Tube Screamer TS-808 is a classic overdrive pedal that’s become a highly collectable vintage piece as well. The Ibanez brand really hit its stride with both pedals and electric guitars from 1975 to about 1984. The Ibanez line of effects pedals were manufactured by a company called Maxon and rebranded for sales in the US and elsewhere. The TS-808 was manufactured from 1979 to 1981 and is known for being the pinnacle of overdrive pedals.
This 1980 Ibanez Tube Screamer Overdrive Pro TS-808 shows wear from being played but has survived in nice original condition. It features the coveted JRC4558D chip and retains all other original parts except for an updated 9 volt battery connector and the battery compartment foam. We observed the date code H8042 on the side of the capacitors indicating that they were manufactured in the 42 week of 1980. We’ve cleaned the potentiometers and adjusted the tension on the input and output jacks. It’s now ready for the stage, studio, or collection and sounds killer!
