Description

If you have played a guitar made by Johan Gustavsson of Sweden, then you know that he makes some of the finest electric guitars currently being built anywhere. Each of his guitars is a masterpiece which he somehow manages to bestow with a tone, look and feel that is reminiscent of a well preserved 50's vintage classic of the Fender or Gibson variety. Along with these desirable vintage qualities, however, you also get modern specs, a build quality that is beyond reproach and playability that few other electrics from any era can match. Offered here is a Gustavsson Fullerblaster, one of two we currently have in stock. The Fullerblaster is Johan's interpretation of the classic Tele, but which is so much more than the guitar it emulates.

If this guitar looks familiar, that is because we sold it once before several years ago. When it popped up again on the used market, we did not hesitate to grab it. All the photos included herein are of the guitar as it currently appears.

This fabulous guitar's specs include: a solid Mahogany body with belly contour and top binding; a TV Yellow nitrocellulose finish; a total guitar weight of just 7.8 pounds; a 25.5" scale, one-piece Honduran Rosewood neck/fretboard with a '59 C shape and depth measurements of .875" at the 1st fret and .975" at the 12th; a 9.5"-12" compound radius, 1.6875" bone nut and medium frets; a Callaham Tele bridge and with compensated brass saddles; and for electronics, a ThroBak P-90 in the neck position and a Wolfetone Tele-style single coil in the bridge with a modern Tele wiring and reversed controls.

Johan's construction methodologies, materials and pickup selections give this guitar a vintage feel and a lovely complex tone. Please check out the brief sound sample provided and I hope you will be able to hear the almost Les Paul-like tones you can get to go with your Tele twang. This guitar can do almost anything you need it to do! As with each of the Gustavsson guitars I've been lucky enough to try, the build quality and playability of this instrument are notable.

Johan builds his instruments to have a vintage feel and look, including aging of the hardware and a very light distressing. This guitar shows just a few insignificant rubs here and there and some very light pick scratching on the black pickguard. The frets show no observable wear. It comes in a G&G hardshell case that is in near mint condition, along with Johan's hand-written certificate of authenticity.

Gustavsson guitars are not inexpensive, but if playing guitars is your passion, they are worth every penny. Make this marvelous Fullerblaster yours and I know you will agree!
