A very beautiful, Isana, German arch top, jazz guitar, designed by master luthier Josef Sandner and dating to late 1962. A very rare deluxe model sporting the alternating wood sides (made only in 1962), the large fret-board inlays, the pearliod deco headstock and pick guard along with the fancy sweeping tailpiece.
Guitar is all original and in exceptional, excellent condition overall.
YOU WILL NEVER SEE ANOTHER ISANA LIKE THIS IN THIS CONDITION AGAIN. This is the best of the best! Gorgeous burst finish. Low action and excellent frets. This guitar plays and sounds like a dream.
This guitar is in nearly new condition save for some minimal finish checking (after all she is over 50).
She comes with a non original tweed hard-shell case that is also in excellent condition.
Elvis owned a 1958 Isana. His father, Vernon, visited Elvis in Germany when he was stationed in the army there, and bought a black Isana for Elvis as a Christmas gift from a local music shop named "Hummel" in Frankfurt. Elvis made many appearances with his Isana and there are several publicity photos of him playing it.
It was his favorite guitar in the late 50‘s and early 60‘s.

Because of the delicate nature of electronics and the possibility of parts swapping, all electric guitars are sold as is. I am not one of those people who makes it a habit of dissecting their guitars and photographing their guts: Only in a rare occasion, if the guitar merits it.
