Description

Here we have a circa 1962 Kay K300 Montclair double cutaway electric guitar. Given its age, this Kay is in very good condition. Though it has its share of wear and tear, there’s nothing egregious about any of it, just the normal wear you’d expect of a guitar from the early 60s. The only other thing to point out is that when the refret was done, some overzealous sanding removed some of the inlay on the 17th fret. But overall the guitar presents well and plays well.

Basic Specs: Tortoise style headstock overlay with somewhat faded logo. Truss rod cover with classic Kay music stand logo. Original Kluson “checkerboard” tuners. Replaced nut measuring 1 11/16 inches. Maple neck with a 25.5 inch scale length. Neck depth measures .92 inches at the first fret and one full inch at the twelfth fret. Bound Rosewood fingerboard with Pearloid block inlays, 19 frets, and a 12 inch radius. Professionally refretted with jumbo wire (frets still in very good condition). Action measures 5/64 and 4/64. Maple body with Natural finish. Original “Speed Bump” single coil pickups and Centralab pots dating to 29th week of 1962. Individual volume and tone controls for each pickup. Three way pickup selector switch. Adjustable Rosewood saddle and Brass bridge with Chrome cover. Large Tortoise style pickguard.

Get in the way back machine, dial it to 1962, and snag this cool old Kay Montclair. Good times and swinging music await you. Comes with a gig bag.
