Yeah buddy! Here we have a gorgeous 1960s Kay Swingmaster K673 with an added Bigsby tremolo system that really rocks our world! This triple pickup model is similar to the Barney Kessel model but does not bear the jazz great’s name.
We love the “Kleenex Box” pickups which produce that punchy single coil tone much like Gibson P-90s. The guitar has separate volume and tone controls for each pickup and 4 way pickup selector which lets you choose each pickup solo or all three combined for sweet vintage mayhem .
The checkered binding is super cool and in great condition as is the two-tone vintage sunburst finish. Semi-hollow body so feedback is minimized when you crank it up. The addition of the Bigsby tailpiece is a nice touch. It works great and adds another dimension to an already versatile guitar. Also has a modern Schaller ABR-1 saddle and replaced Kluson tuners for ultimate playability.
25 3/4 inch scale length with 1 5/8 inch nut width. Nice clean rosewood fingerboard (we think Brazilian) with all dot inlays in perfect condition. These Kay guitars sported various headstock logos in the 60s, but this is our favorite Kay logo for sure. Overall this guitar is in excellent condition with a little finish checking and just a few finish chips here and there.
