Circa 1960s Kay Truetone 'SPEED DEMON' hollow body electric guitar in a Dark Sunburst Finish - ALL ORIGINAL - featuring THREE highly-desirable Dearmond 'Speed Bump' pickups in very clean excellent condition, with vintage and possibly original softshell case. These vintage Truetone guitars were made by Kay for Western Auto Stores, but they are all over the place KAY guitars. This is a super cool and fairly high-endy model called the Speed Demon. This one appears to be all original except the nut - which also has been shimmed. But she plays GREAT; action is nice and lowish and comfy, easy to play. The finish is really really clean and still has a nice gloss to it! Vintage strip Kluson tuners, bound rosewood fingerboard, double bound body, 3 pickups, volume and tone knobs for each, and a cool vintage 3 way selector switch. 'Trutone' decal/stencil on headstock has faded, but is visible. This thing pumps out some really nice tones; enough clarity for moody jazz, and enough snark for some blues with an edge. Bridge is currently as low as it will go, but action is good as is. Really cool old Kay! Call 859-261-5500 for an in hand description. Thanks.
