1959 Kay Value Leader was a student model guitar of its time. Now it's a cool, old, vintage player.

Loaded with 3 pickups, each with their own volume and tone controls, and a 4-way pickup selector to choose between each pickup by themselves, or all 3 on at the same time.

Apparently it's very common, the large black dot inlays have sunk into the fretboard. On frets 3, 5, and 7, the holes were filled in with (what what looks like) hot glue. Frets 9,12, and 15 have the dot inlay pressed in.

The original tuning keys were swapped out with a set of Kluson Deluxe 3x3 plank tuning keys. Has had a bone nut installed. The bridge pickup volume control knob was replaced with a chicken-head knob. The upper strap button was removed from the neck heel.

The body has a dents, chips, and scuffs throughout, but nothing major. The sides of the headstock near the nut both have some of the finish worn off.

Has a 1 5/8" nut width, 24 3/4" scale length, and weighs 5 pounds 8 ounces.
