From Keeley's newest line, an awesome fuzz pedal with a fixed wah built in!
The new Keeley Sfocato fuzz is in a realm all of it's own. The Sfocato is a 2 transistor BC109 Fuzz pedal with a "fixed" or "cocked" wah built in. The original design of the pedal was to recreate a fuzzy cocked wah tone reminiscent of Dire Straits' "Money For Nothing," or the tones of guitarists like as Steve Vai and Joe Satriani.
The pedal has a toggle on the top for bass, and a switch on the side of the enclosure to engage or disengage the wah (to be used as a dedicated fuzz, rather than both). The Controls are user-friendly in that there are 3 simple knobs - Level (output), Wah (range of filter, or tone when wah is disengaged) and Fuzz (color of fuzz). The natural fuzz color is bright but seems to be more in a thick midrange rather than a shrill or piercing high end - a sound our own Corey Blackburn has dubbed "honky". It's a completely usable and saturated fuzz tone that only gets cooler when the wah is engaged.
The Sfocato is truly a one of a kind pedal, a cut above the rest. Use it to recreate the sounds you've been chasing after for years, or venture into unchartered territory - the choice is up to you.
The Keeley Sfocato Fuzz Wah is in a class all by itself. A two transistor BC109 fuzz with an Italian-inspired wah pedal dropped into the tone control! Need Money for Nothing? Need Zappa at your little footies? Just want some jarring and nasty whacked out Fuzz and Wah? This is it. Not for the faint of heart. Perfect for neo-vintage rock sounds. Carve something out for yourself. Tones instantly available instead of foot tapping around to get that perfect bite or WOOLY THICK FUZZ!
Each unit hand built in Edmond, OK USA.
In fact, the Sfocato Fuzz Wah will be the first pedal since 2008 that we have done the case in-house. We cut the cases on our CNC machine and printed the graphics with out UV LED printer. I am very, very proud of this pedal. I just want to pop the top off of it and take a swig!
