Made in Chicago by Dan Koentopp before moving to L.A. 17" oval-hole blonde archtop with "X" bracing on the spruce top and curly maple back and sides and bindings. Fancy inlay on front and back of peghead, fingerboard and the rosette. Wood marquetry arounf perimeter of top. 1 3/4" nut width, ebony tailpiece, 25" scale and a violin-type bridge. Gold Waverly tuners with black pearl buttons. There are signs of playing wear here and there, including some light dings on the body and light circular marks on the side of the peghead from a winder. No signs of abuse, however, and sounds terrific! Has an output jack, but the pickup has been removed. With a tweed TKL hardshell case.
