Summary: Best known for their iconic Tuck and Roll amplifiers, Kustom briefly produced a line of guitars and basses. Made in 1968 and 1969, these unique and rare instruments featured a semi-hollow body of unusual design—the front and back were made separately, hollowed out, then joined together. They have been called the love-child of a Mosrite and a Rickenbacker. This particular Kustom is in a cool Green/Maroon sunburst finish & it plays and sounds great.

Body: Sandwiched (2-piece) book-matched semi-hollowbody maple body construction. Single “cat’s eye” hole. Green sunburst finish.

Neck: Two piece maple bolt-on neck. Rosewood fingerboard with zero fret and a unique dot inlay pattern. Factory screw-mounted metal nut. Kluson Deluxe tuning machines with clover metal buttons. 1 9/16” nut width. 24.5” scale length. This neck is super thin and if you like a thin feeling neck you will love this baby.

Pickups/Hardware: Two DynaSonic DeArmond single-coil pickups. Compensated bridge. Top-mounted reverse trapeze tailpiece. Two volume and two tone controls with chrome insert black fluted 7-point knobs, 3-way selector switch, black plastic pick guard.

Cosmetics: This vintage guitar is in great shape! There is some light crazing, scratching and finish wear. The neck has a few dings and nicks on the back with one in particular on the treble side near the first fret where the green finish has been taken off. The frets are in excellent condition. This guitar does have some light buckle wear on the back and some dings on the top, all of which is consistent with a guitar from the 1960's. There is some wear around the edges of the pickguard and two small holes that are below the 2 pickups that may have been an attempt to change or add an aftermarket pickup in the past. Overall this guitar is in great shape and is structurally sound condition with no breaks or cracks.

Playability: This neck is very, very thin. The action is low and play is very smooth up and down the neck. This guitar plays with no buzz or dead spots! The tone dished out by the two DeArmonds is transparent and warm. The frets don’t show much wear & have a ton of life left in them.

Weight: 7 lbs, 1 oz.
