Description

Offered for sale;

Used c1968 Kustom K200B5 amp head serial number 31247. This head is in very good condition, fully functional, cosmetically there are a few “nicks and marks” here and there.

The K200B5 was marketed as the amp/mixer component in a P.A. system package. The head was sold with a tubular chrome stand and usually two speaker columns. Some variations were available in the speaker cabinet/columns, offering 12” and 15” configurations. In the late ‘60s this was THE P.A. to have; it not only sounded great but looked fantastic.

Although this a PA head, that’s what’s least interesting about it due to the ¼” inputs. It’s a great bass amp in the tradition of the K200. Just don’t use the reverb.

With the reverb it’s also a surprisingly good sounding guitar amp (sorry no tremolo).

Kustom is one of the most reliable amps ever. We’ve been in biz since 1976 and have never needed to do more than clean dirty pots on any ‘60s/’70s tuck & roll Kustom we’ve ever seen.

The original Kustom amps, produced by Ross Inc. of Chanute Kansas, came in a variety of colors including Red Sparkle, Blue Sparkle, Gold Sparkle, Cascade Sparkle (teal), Charcoal Sparkle (grey), Silver Sparkle (white), and Flat Black (which contained no glitter). Eventually the company branched out to produce organs, drums, microphones, and guitars. The company morphed and changed ownership over the years and continued to produce a variety of products.

This is a really cool piece; it is photographed on top of a very rare Kustom 3x15" bass cabinet. The cab is a mere $219.99. (Local pick up only).

*Please note: we do our best giving descriptions of used pieces. We have found it impossible to describe every mark on an instrument or amp that is not in the "mint" category. Also, what's important to you may not be important to someone else. For example, you may say, "I don't care what it looks like as long as it plays or sounds well." Another person may say, "Body cosmetics are very important to me so tell me about every scratch, nick and blemish." So, please ask the questions that are most important to you. If you ask they will be answered. They are free and there's no limit. Additional photos can also be made available.

This is a specific item that is also being offered for sale in our brick & mortar location. It is possible that it has just been sold. Please ask if it is still available before purchasing.

*It is our policy to require a signature on delivery of all musical instruments. Please let us know if you prefer no signature required when ordering or we will automatically require a signature.

If you prefer your item to be sent without a required signature Imperial Guitar and the selected carrier can no longer be responsible for the security of the package once it has been delivered.
