The guitar is in excellent all original condition and displays little if any playwear or handling wear. The overall finish is in fine shape and the sound, playability, and action are spot on and very close to the original builder specification. The guitar has, however, spent some time without proper humidification and has a very small seam separation on the top, several very small binding separations, and several cracks in the back Rosewood shown in the pictures in this listing. Therefore, this instrument would likely profit from some professional crack repairs once it acclimated to it's new home and environment.

We are pleased to offer the fine luthier services of the notable Boulder Colorado based H.B Woodsongs if you would like a quotation for having the repairs completed before shipment to you if you contact us. The staff at Woodsongs did get a chance to review this instrument and shared our enthusiasm for this extraordinary guitar. It was also their collective opinion that the tonewoods were likely Madagascar Rosewood.

If you've gotten this far, you probably know that this instrument sold for close to $8000 when new based on the existent 2009 McCollum pricelist. With the growing collectibility and rarity of the few McCollum guitars in existence, here's an opportunity to own a very special example for a fantastic price!

Before bidding, we do ask that you request our detailed picture catalog of this instrument at rob@guitardesires.com so you can get a feeling for the overall condition and features of this fine guitar before making a commitment to buy. We're pleased to offer our domestic buyers a 24 hour approval period after which you may return the instrument, for any reason, for a full refund of your purchase price with no questions asked. Don't miss this very very special fine instrument.
