It is a complete mystery to me why these Landon instruments aren't some of the most popular and best-selling guitars in the world. Every aspect of this K-Tour bass, from the Babicz and Hipshot hardware to the custom Honey Badger Custom J-Bass pickups contributes to this being a quality, American-made bass. We hope the pictures do it justice because this is one very well-performing and gorgeous bass guitar!

We shot close-ups of the COA and spec sheet so you can see everything that went into building this pre-production run instrument. After completion, it was designated with the serial number 00009.

The control setup is quite unique: there is one volume and one tone control. When the volume knob is dialed up, both pickups are on full blast and here's where the magic comes in: you control the voicing of the bass by changing the tone control. Turn it forward and you dial in a funky, bright Jazz bass sound. Turn it back and you achieve a more rounded and low P-Bass tone. My personal preference is to have the tone knob just slightly forward from the middle position so I get a snappy, but fully round sound. At least there's not a million switches and knobs- just plug it in, turn it up and go!

Nothing here in the shop comes even close as far as sheer attitude, appearance, and sound. I swore years ago that I would never use the term "plays like butta" again, but, the bass made me say it.

If you have a budget of around 2 grand and are looking for something new and exciting, then please consider this Landon K-Tour bass. Trust me- you'll call me back with rave reviews and in case I forgot to mention it, this incredible bass weighs only 8 lbs, 4 oz. That's a perfect Les Paul weight, for Pete's sake, so your back and shoulder will thank us both later.

With the exception of a couple of very light belt worms on the back, the bass looks virtually unplayed. It's been restrung with new strings and will arrive set up and ready to go. As always, thank you for stopping by our little slice of Heaven and please call or email with any questions.
