ca. 1920 Leland "Brilliantone" Mandolin EXC This is a fine example of the Larson Brothers work. Beautiful straight grained crack free spruce top with colorful marquetry, original bridge, tailpiece, and tortoise shell pickguard. Gorgeous bookmatched Brazilian rosewood back and sides also crack free as is the entire instrument. It's completely original with the enclosed tuning pegs and interesting style heel construction. Elegant plain Brazilian rosewood headtock veneer. The label is in wonderful condition. As typical of Larson instruments the serial number (#12033) appears on the little brace underneath the fingerboard extension. It came to us with no case but we'll find something in which to ship it safely.
