Currently, RETSCH offers American-type tenor basses with medium-fine tuning.SL-236and thick tubeSL-342are produced. Three types are available, each with a different F-tube layout. Mouthpieces that fit this model areSmall shank German mouthpiece. If you use a general American type narrow mouthpiece, it will not be balanced well because it goes in too deep.

[Condition.]
There are some scratches and peeling of lacquer paint around the rotary branch pipe. There is a dent at the tip of the mouth pipe. Other than that, there are no noticeable scratches, dents, repairs, or lacquer damage. The inside of the pipe has been cleaned, replaced with a soft mono, and inspected and maintained in various areas.

[Features]
SL-236 is an American-type medium-fine tenor bass currently produced by Retsch. It has a slightly larger slide bore and bell diameter than the Vincent Buck 36B, which is a representative American tenor bass of the same medium-narrow tube. The slide position and the bore are uniform, rather than the dual bore characteristic of German trombones, so even those who mainly play American trombones can switch to the other trombone relatively smoothly. Of course, it is distinct from purely American trombones, as can be seen in the features of German pipes, such as the trimmed bell and nickel silver outer slide. The SL-236, in particular, is a medium-fine tube, which makes it sound more like a traditional German tube.
