Description

Offered is this killer Lentz DL90 built in 2016. I sold this guitar "new" back in 2016 and remembered it as being particularly special, so I had no problem taking it back in trade towards the Lentz Reserve S we had in stock until recently.

The gentleman for whom it was originally built wanted the most resonant intrument possible, so he requested a one piece body and the very thinest finish that Scott and Scott Jr. could give it. The body on this guitar was made from a single piece of light weight Swamp Ash with tortoise nitrate binding added to the top and back. The finish is extremely thin clear nitro lacquer. The neck is a single piece of Rock Maple with a very soft V-shape and depth measurements of .90" at the first fret increasing to 1.00" at the twelfth fret. It has a very dark East Indian Rosewood fretboard with a 9.5" radius, 6105 fret wire, clay dot inlays and a 1.655" bone nut. It has a Gotoh hardtail bridge with optional Titanium saddles. The electronics include two Lentz L-90 pickups along with a volume control for each pickup, a master tone knob and a three-way toggle switch. The guitar has a total weight of just 6.75 pounds!

If you love P-90's, a big neck profile and can't decide between an LP and a Tele, the Lentz DL 90 may be the guitar for you. Cranked or clean, this guitar seems to read your mind. The tone of this guitar is fat with a good dose of Tele twang. Please check out the brief sound sample provided below. This thing can cook! And of course, as a custom built Lentz guitar, it nearly plays itself.

This one-owner guitar is in fabulous condition save for a bit of finish checking in the very thin clear nitro. I've included a couple of photos of the worst of the checking. The finish checking and a few pick marks on the guard aside, this guitar is in great condition and the frets show no observable wear. It comes in it's original blonde G&G hardshell case.

Built for you today with these specifications this guitar would cost you $5K. Get this superb 2016 example for half that sum. Get yourself a Lentz hand built guitar. You will be very, very glad you did!
