Description

If you are seeking the 'ultimate' in an F-style electric guitar, then you want a instrument from Lentz Guitars of San Marcos, California. The father and son team of Scott and Scott Jr. make some of the best S and T style guitars in the business, as well as a few superb models of their own design. Fresh from their shop and offered here is a fabulous 2017 Lentz Reserve S-style guitar.

Lentz Reserve guitars are the best that Scott and Scott Jr. build and they are made from the very best materials available. This beauty features: a very light weight, one-piece body made of 25 year old Swamp Ash stock which is finished in Lake Placid Blue metallic nitro lacquer; a neck made of 25 year old highly flamed Maple with a very soft V to C shape and depth measurements of .900" at the first fret increasing to 1.00" at the twelfth fret; a gorgeous old growth Brazilian Rosewood fretboard with 9.5" radius, 6105 fret wire and a 1.655" bone nut; a Callaham vintage style tremolo bridge with threaded arm; and for electronics, three custom Lentz Alnico 5 single coils, with outputs of 6.12k in the neck, 7.00k in the middle and 7.60k in the bridge position, along with VTT, a five-way switch, matching pots and oil & paper caps. This magnificent guitar has a total weight of just 7 pounds, 1 ounce.

Once you play a Lentz S or T-style guitar, particularly one of their Reserve guitars, you will be spoiled for most anything else. From years of experience, they have figured out how to consistently produce instruments that look, feel, play and sound so very good. This guitar plays great and sounds fabulous; listen to the provided sound sample for a brief taste of it's lovely vintage-style tone. In all relevant respects, this guitar kicks proverbial butt!

This instrument was only recently completed and was offered to me as a "blem" model. If you look very closely you may see that it has a very faint finish flaw in the rear arch of the upper horn (see photo provided). I'm certain I would have overlooked it had Scott not mentioned it. It is smooth and almost invisible, sort of a thin curved shadow in the finish. This "blem" aside, this guitar is new, spotless and has not been played except for my brief test play. It comes in it's similarly mint G&G blonde case.

You can order a guitar with these specs can be ordered from Lentz for the price of $6,950 and a wait of several months. Get this near mint "blem" model right now and for more than a grand less. If you want the best, you want a Lentz. Treat yourself and get this fabulous Lentz Reserve S today.
