ca. 1905 Lyon & Healy 5 String Banjo EXC A little research was necessary since there is no name anywhere on the instrument but my friend Stu Cohen is pretty sure it's Lyon and Healy and made probably for either Montgomery Wards or or Sears Roebuck and the top of the line at the time. It's in really nice original condition with all 31 brackets, and harware present and a fine and fancy tailpiece. It has a spunover metal rim with wooden dowel stick and nice inlay on the heel. The fingerboard is beautifully inlaid as is the headstock. 5 Star planetary tuning pegs and geared 5th peg. New frosted plastic head and newer maple/ebony bridge. 26" scake length. 1 1/4" nut width. Newer hardshell case is too large but we will pack carefully.
