1980年代末に"マーシャルアンプ"の伝統を受け継ぐエフェクターとして誕生した名機です!
LEDクリッパーを採用したドライブサウンドは、まさにマーシャルの血統と言えるもので、ディストーションらしい激しさの中にも、ミッドにしっとりとした艶気を感じるサウンドを持っています。可変幅の大きい3バンドEQにより、自由度の高い音づくりが可能です。1988年に発売されたオリジナルガバナーは英国製で、1998年に復刻されたガバナーは韓国製になります。同じ英国製オリジナル機でも初期は緑色の基板ですが、後期は青色基板になっています。英国製ガバナーにMotorola、またはTexas Instruments製のTL072CP(またはTL072C)オペアンプが搭載されたのに対して、韓国製リイシューにはJRC 072BD(または072D)が搭載されました。韓国製リイシューとサウンドを比較すると、英国製オリジナル機は中低域が豊かで厚みのあるサウンド。対する韓国製リイシューは高域が強く中低域は若干少ない印象です。
