Who needs reverb when you can have beautiful creamy distortion that will curl your toes and nail your heart to the wall! Here we have a 1980s Marshall JCM 800 2203 Master Lead head, one of the most respected and revered of the 100 watt Marshall heads.
This was the first amp on which Marshall included a Master Volume control which allows the amp to be driven into tasty distortion without having to turn the volume up to its maximum levels, making the JCM Master Lead head fully effective no matter the size of your venue.
Although the exterior cosmetics were redesigned in the 1980s, the circuitry remained the same. Why mess with a perfect thing! Countless bands, from heavy metal to grunge, have used this amp to drive their tone to new levels. Why settle for digitized imitations or clones when you can have the real thing? You only go around once in this life, so you may as well rock it the way it’s meant to be done.
