Description

Where the 50 watt JMP amps are aggressive and nasty, the JTM 45 is a relative lamb. It can roar like a lion when you want it to but it doesn't have to be cranked to ear bleed levels to put out great tone. It is a very musical amp. The touch sensitivity is second to none (much like a tweed Bassman-no surprise-it's the same circuit). I had been playing through tweed Bassmans for years and really wanted to try a JTM 45 to see if it was everything a Bassman is. It is. This JTM is the PA version (but not the one with all those inputs). As I understand it, the only difference is the missing bright cap (which a lot of folks remove anyway). This amp is mostly originality has had about a half dozen caps changed but the iron is original. One switch was changed (standby). The logo is, I believe, a repro. Bulgin power cord is newer. Photo shows 5581 power tubes-these have been changed to a vintage set of Gold Lion KT-66's. I think I've covered everything-if you see something that loos wrong, feel free to let me know. I'm not a Marshall expert.
