Description

Marshall JTM45 MK II 'PA' guitar amplifier head, made in England, circa 1965, within a fitted flight case, replacement output transformer, sold with a 2023 inspection report from Marshall and a small selection of original valves

*Inherited by the vendor from his father who was the original owner, buying the amplifier in 1965 from The Music Box, Erdington, Birmingham. The vendor used the amp himself up until around 1991, when it was put away and left unused ever since.

The Marshall Amplification report states that "the output transformer has been replaced, dated 11-7-94. The first reservoir smoothing cap has failed and has been replaced with two capacitors on top of the chassis. The bias caps are starting to leak and need replacing. The second reservoir smoothing cap is breaking down and needs replacing. The preamp smoothing capacitor rivets are loose. The presence and bass pots were seized but we have applied some lubricant and they are now working. We would not recommend using the amplifier until the smoothing and bias capacitors are replaced. Overall, the amplifier is good condition and very original"
