Description

Oh, yes. Here we have a super lightweight Martin parlor (0-17) from 1946. All-mahogany construction gives this guitar a distinct warm and mellow tone, but we think these old Martins have a bit more clarity than the modern all-mahogany models. In any case, this one sounds beautiful and plays great thanks to a neck reset and refret with vintage-style brass fretwire.

1 11/16 inch Ebony nut. 24.9 inch scale length. 7/8 inch neck depth at the first fret and 1 1/8 inch at the 12th fret. Condition is good for a 70 year old guitar that has been played rather than gathering dust under a bed. Lots of scratches and dings on the back and top, but the back of the neck is nice and clean. Most importantly, there are no cracks or breaks to contend with. It’s ready to hit the stage tonight. Hard to beat an 0-17 for Americana, Old Timey, or Folk, but it’s a versatile guitar that can handle most anything you throw at it.

Comes with a non-original “period” softshell case. A 40s Martin at a reasonable price. What more could you ask?
