Description

Offered for sale;

Used 1964 Martin 00-18C serial number 198804.

This guitar is in quite good condition except some previous owner engraved two lines of numbers on the back of the headstock (see photo). It’s a mystery known only to him (or her). There is also a bit of finish bubbling in the same area. The neck angle and frets are fine.

There is a crack on the side (see photos) that was semi-professionally glued. The two sides of the crack don’t meet perfectly flush. But it is structurally sound so we didn’t see the need to go in and do further work.

At some point the was a neck reset with a little touch-up on heel (see photo).

Cosmetically there are other marks and nicks about the body, a moderate amount of patina for its age.

The classical 00-18c was introduced as a nylon-stringed counterpart to the 00-18 in the early '60s. As in the 00-18, this guitar featured Mahogany back and sides with a Spruce top. The 00-18c also used a longer slope to its shoulders similar to the shape of the normal 00-18 prior to 1934.

These guitars were popular in the upcoming folk music scene and also in the country “Hootenanny” world. Thought not an N-20, stretch your imagination and pursue dreams of Willie Nelson.

Cool Martin classical, nice deal!

Non-original hard-shell case included.

“We carefully inspect every instrument when we buy it and bring it up to our standards before we offer it for sale. We also do a full set up before we ship.”

*Please note: we do our best giving descriptions of used pieces. We have found it impossible to describe every mark on an instrument or amp that is not in the "mint" category. Also, what's important to you may not be important to someone else. For example, you may say, "I don't care what it looks like as long as it plays or sounds well." Another person may say, "Body cosmetics are very important to me so tell me about every scratch, nick and blemish." So, please ask the questions that are most important to you. If you ask they will be answered. They are free and there's no limit. Additional photos can also be made available.

This is a specific item that is also being offered for sale in our brick & mortar location. It is possible that it has just been sold. Please ask if it is still available before purchasing.

*It is our policy to require a signature on delivery of all musical instruments. Please let us know if you prefer no signature required when ordering or we will automatically require a signature.

If you prefer your item to be sent without a required signature Imperial Guitar and the selected carrier can no longer be responsible for the security of the package once it has been delivered.
