This is a very nice playing and sounding Martin 000-18, made in the USA in 1948. This guitar shows significant play wear including several repaired cracks, and numerous dings, dents, and scratches. It has clearly been extensively played over its 70+ years and plays and sound wonderfully. The finish on the top and the front of the headstock appears to be original. The back and sides appear to have been refinished with a rubbed on oil finish decades ago. The guitar has an unusual repair and it appears someone installed a shim under the fretboard to correct the neck angle. The repair did it's job in that the neck angle is now very good and the action is low and comfortable with a good amount of saddle height left. The tuners and bridge are not original. Despite the wear this guitar is in excellent playing condition and it sounds great.
