Martin 000-21S "Duende" Guitar (1965) on SALE

  • Oh, the legend of a fine guitar! This is an historic Martin guitar, by any measure. Originally commissioned by a key Martin dealer in 1965 as a birthday present for his wife. "Duende" was her dog's name, which is why he pulled some strings at Martin to have it inscribed into the heel block.
  • It features the highest grade Brazilian rosewood back & sides - check out the "spider-webbing" in our photos
  • "45" quality, Adirondack spruce top
  • This guitar is unique in that it is the only 000-21 made in '65. The 000-21 before it was late Oct. 1960, and the one after (and there is only one) was ordered April 15, 1965. This info was provided by Martin Guitars and comes from the 1918-1966 bookings ledger.
