Description

1943 Martin 000-28 in very good condition. A war time guitar with Adirondack top with Brazilian rosewood back and sides, neck with ebony reinforcement, no t-bar. Original finish with no overspray, lots of wear and checking and looks great. Has had a neck reset, bridge and bridge plate replaced with correct size, refret, center seam relgue and 1950s Grover G-98s replace the original Kluson all work done by Gruhns. Herringbone top trim and zig-zag back strip along with scalloped bracing give this all the attractive features of the pre-war guitars. The neck is a nice soft V and more reminiscent of a late 1939 than most war time guitars. Great dry woody tone that only comes with age and playing time. There is still no substitute for an old guitar that was well played for many years. This is a workhorse ready to go back to work for many years. Includes original hard case.
