Description

Offered here is early number 26 of the 461 piece limited run Martin produced of this model in 2009. Each of the 461 guitars produced was personally signed by EC himself. These guitars are highly coveted for the solid Carpathian Spruce used for the top and the solid Madagascar Rosewood that was used for the back and sides. These upgraded tone woods give this 000-size guitar a nicely balanced and rich tone with lots of projection and clarity, whether you play with a flat pick or fingerstyle.

The specs for this limited-run model include: A 000-size body with Mahogany blocks/Dovetail joint and scalloped X-bracing; Madagascar Rosewood for the back and sides; Carpathian Spruce for the top; Style 45 Rosette; Herringbone trim and Ivoroid binding; a 14-fret, 25.4" scale length Mahogany neck with Modified V shape; a 1-3/4" bone nut; a compensated bone saddle with 2-1/4" string spacing; a Black Ebony fretboard with diamond and square inlays; a Madagascar Rosewood headstock overlay and nickel Waverly tuners with Butterbean knobs.

I've had several of these in stock over the years, but none has been a superbly preserved as this beauty. The frets and pickguard are flawless and the body shows only the very lightest of evidence of play and handling. The setup is superb with 12th fret strings heights of 6/64" at the low E side and 4/64" on the high E side, with lots of saddle remaining. It comes in it's original Geib-style Martin case with Cabernet interior, the paperwork and an alternate bone saddle. Be you a collector or a player, this is a choice Martin to add to your arsenal, particularly one in such superb condition. Very, very nice indeed!
