1996 Martin 000-28 EC #584156
1996 was the first year for the 000-28EC (the 000-42EC came one year earlier) and this example is #226 in the series. Indian rosewood and spruce, ebony board and bridge with scalloped X bracing, herringbone top trim and rosette and a nut width of 1 3/4" and pin spacing of 2 1/4". Scale length is 24.9". The guitar has been exceptionally well kept, I would rate its condition as excellent. There are some superficial pick marks on the pickguard (none on the finish) and there is a small spot of lift in the finish just at the forward edge of the bridge on the top, appears to be in the clear coat only as the color underneath is no disturbed, I've tried to show this in one of the final pics. No cracks, dings, dents, or repairs. The frets are in great shape. The action is set at 6/64" and 5/64" at the 12th fret with just a hair under 1/8" of saddle showing. The neck is straight under tension and the top flat. The neck barrel has a soft vintage 'V' profile, quite comfortable. Great sounding and playing guitar that comes with the original hard case. $3200 + shipping, NY state buyers add 8% sales tax.
