2015 Martin 000-42/45 Guatemalan Excellent, Original Hard, $6,996.00

An extremely rare opportunity for an extremely rare, mint-condition, one-of-a-kind, legally “pre-owned” and barely ever touched Martin Custom Shop guitar, at a truly amazing price. It is an absolutely exquisite guitar, with the appointments of a pre-war 000-42, amongst the rarest of Martins, and with special, full style-45 “snowflake" fingerboard inlays and “CF Martin” block letter peghead inlay, built entirely to my own specifications, both inside and out. The back and sides are of top-grade Guatemalan rosewood, about as close as one can come to the no-longer available Brazilian. I had the opportunity to personally select, from over a hundred sets, the wood used on the back and sides of this guitar and will always opt, when possible, for very straight-grained rosewood; I was fortunate enough to have found some that met my exacting standards. The top is of what Martin has described, in their internal factory build sheet, as “High Altitude Swiss Spruce (European, certified)”, and was personally selected for me by one of their most experienced, long-term guitar makers. All of the neck inlay, as well as the entire border of the top of the guitar and the soundhole rosette, are of select heart-of-abalone shell. With its very traditional 24.9” scale length, its tones are sweet and incredibly strong and will only improve with age. Its modern low-profile neck shape and 1-11/16” genuine bone nut make the action, I’m happy to say, extremely easy without being too soft.
