This is a nice little Martin 2-27 in excellent original condition from approximately 1885. The label says Martin, New York. It is in remarkably good condition for a 130 year old guitar. Some mild pickwear on the top and a few dings and scratches consistent with mild playing wear. Brazilian Rosewood sides and back, Spruce top and ebony fingerboard and bridge. Original tuners, frets, bridge, finish and original case key.
1 3/4" nut width and 1/8" string height at the 12th fret, this guitar plays beautifully. Set up with extra light steel strings it sounds crystal clear and balanced. Really a great fingerpicking guitar. No bellying of the top at all.
Minor finish crack on the heel is very solid. Comes with original coffin case in very good condition.
