This is a real nice little Martin 5-18 guitar from 1949 in excellent original condition with the original hard shell case. Very minor pickwear on the top and small nicks and scratches consistent with a near 70 year old guitar but over all it is in excellent condition. The 5-18 is a small or "terz" guitar with a 21 1/2" scale length, 1 5/8" nut width and a lower bout width of 11 1/4". It was made popular in the 1950's by Marty Robbins who used one on stage and is frequently pictured with one. This one has the original tuners, frets, pick guard, bridge (re-glued at some point) and finish. It also has the slotted headstock which is only on the early models. Comes with the original hard case in excellent condition but needing a new handle.
